Unlike the Art of Anarchy self-titled album, I've been holding off on buying James Taylor's latest, titled Before this World, but I do like JT (Yes, I have broad tastes, as the hard rock album I bought and the James Taylor album I am thinking about getting illustrate ).  Anyone bought it?  How James' singing voice these days?  I have his last album of new material previous to this, October Road, where I thought he was in top form with lots of great songs, but that was issued like 15 years ago.

Amazon wants $11.49 for MP3s.  I'll probably at least wait until it hits $9.99 or under, as these new released inevitably do.

But I thought I'd check and see what other folks think also.  I have kind of a minimal JT Collection- Greatest Hits 1 and 2, October Road, Covers, and a song from some random movie soundtrack.  I love classic songs like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", but I've never really felt the need to start plucking up the individual albums that are compiled on the Greatest Hits album.  If I were starting fresh today, I probably would- I made the decision like five years ago to stop buying Greatest Hits compilations in general, because if I like the music I'm always stuck saying "Can I really justify buying the individual albums when I already have 90% of the best songs?" and either limiting my collection unnecessarily or buying the same songs twice.  Now if there's an artist I want to get into, I buy the best or the first normal studio album and decide what I want to do from there.  But these pre-date that decision.

In any event, I obviously have no songs from the new album, so if it's good, I'm leaning towards getting it when the price drops.
